The Dutch government has officially announced that, beginning April 1, 2025, it will significantly broaden the scope of export controls governing advanced semiconductor equipment. This entails mandating companies to secure export licenses for a select range of specialized technologies, particularly those involving measurement and inspection equipment. ASML, a prominent player in the wafer equipment industry, has expressed confidence that the new policy will not adversely affect its operations. In a statement, the Dutch Ministry of Trade underscored that the measure is narrowly targeted at a "very limited" subset of technologies.
