Intel Announces Gradual Retirement of 12th-Generation Alder Lake Mobile Processors, Encompassing Core, Pentium, and Celeron Lines
2025-01-15

Intel has unveiled plans to gradually phase out its 12th-generation Alder Lake series of mobile CPUs, encompassing the Core i3, i5, i7, and i9 lines, as well as select Pentium and Celeron models, with the exception of the HX series. Effective April 11, Intel will instruct local representatives to halt production, with the final supply cutoff scheduled for July 25, 2025, and the last shipment date set for January 23, 2026. These processors are being systematically replaced by 13th-generation counterparts, making it unlikely that newly launched products will incorporate Alder Lake processors. Most models already have successors in place; for instance, the i5-1235U can be seamlessly upgraded to the i5-1335U, Core 5 120U, or Core 5 220U, all of which share the same socket and design architecture.
