The General Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government has unveiled the "Shanghai New Energy Storage Demonstration and Leading Innovation Development Work Plan (2025-2030)." According to the plan, by 2026, Shanghai aims to establish a comprehensive industrial chain for new energy storage core technologies and equipment, construct two dedicated new energy storage industrial parks, and nurture over 10 high-quality enterprises. The anticipated application scale is set to exceed 800,000 kW, marking an initial demonstration of the energy storage's peak shaving capabilities and achieving an industrial scale nearing RMB 100 billion. By 2030, Shanghai envisions fostering leading enterprises with a scale of RMB 100 billion through a combination of introductions and nurturing, with an application scale surpassing 2 million kW. This will enable full peak load reduction and a doubling of the industrial scale once again.
