Beijing Accelerates Brain-Computer Interface Innovation, Targeting Large-Scale Commercialization Across Multiple Sectors by 2030

Beijing has unveiled the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Innovation and Development of Brain-Computer Interface in Beijing (2025-2030)", with the objective of fostering the groundbreaking advancements in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. The plan outlines a strategy to expedite the R&D of both non-invasive and invasive BCI products, while broadening their application spectrum to encompass healthcare, wellness, education, and beyond. By 2027, Beijing aims to deliver a slew of groundbreaking original achievements and achieve breakthroughs in crucial core technologies. By 2030, the city strives to initially establish a BCI industrial ecosystem and progressively refine the technological innovation framework. Concurrently, universities and research institutions in Tianjin are also actively involved in BCI technology R&D, having attained a series of internationally acclaimed research milestones.
