U.S. chip giant NVIDIA has completed a $1 billion investment in South Korean internet portal Naver, acquiring a 4.13% stake through a third-party allotment to become its third-largest shareholder. Naver issued more than 6.5 million new shares to NVIDIA in a targeted placement, raising 1.3 trillion Korean won. The investment will accelerate the joint AI factory project the two companies previously announced. Naver plans to build GPU infrastructure leveraging related data centers and expand its GPU-as-a-service business.
