At noon on November 6, 10 Shanghai-listed companies jointly announced plans to use relending for share buybacks and increases in holdings. These include six STAR Market companies (Hygon Information, Gaoche Shares, Lianxun Instruments, Qiangyi Shares, Xi'an Yicai, and Guangzhou Steel Gas) and four main-board Shanghai Stock Exchange companies (Kingfa Sci. & Tech., Haixing Power, Hengtong Optic-Electric, and Haitong Development). Since October, Shanghai-listed companies have disclosed 21 additional announcements on using relending for share buybacks and stake increases, with loans totaling 2.7 billion yuan. The central bank, together with relevant departments, created the relending facility for stock buybacks and stake increases in October 2024 to support listed companies in repurchasing shares and major shareholders in raising their holdings. From the policy's implementation through November 5, 2026, Shanghai-listed companies have newly disclosed more than 550 special loan announcements, with loan amounts exceeding 140 billion yuan.
