On November 6, Charu Chanana, Chief Investment Strategist at Saxo Financial, noted that Asian markets are particularly vulnerable in the latest round of AI stock sell-offs. She said the sharp correction stems partly from the market reassessing future U.S. infrastructure demand, and also reflects investors' overly concentrated positions in AI beneficiary stocks. South Korea and Taiwan are heavily exposed to the global AI hardware cycle, particularly in logic chips and memory chips, while Japan has significant exposure to this cycle through semiconductor equipment and industrial suppliers. In addition, crowded investor positioning further amplified the market shock. Chanana added that the speed and scope of the sell-off suggest the market is undergoing a deleveraging process, with the possibility of forced liquidations.
