The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) outlined its approach to fostering and strengthening new growth drivers at a press conference in its "Striving for the 15th Five-Year Plan" series. Relevant officials stated that pillar industries serve as the fundamental backbone of the national economy and a key frontier for developing new quality productive forces. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, efforts will focus on cultivating six major emerging pillar industries—including integrated circuits, aerospace, and biomedicine—which is of great significance for shaping new growth drivers and promoting a smooth and continuous transition between old and new growth drivers. At present, leveraging an industrial system characterized by complete categories and large scale, these emerging pillar industries are demonstrating strong development momentum.
