OpenAI founder Sam Altman met with Samsung Group executives on Saturday in Yongin, South Korea, where the two sides discussed deepening cooperation in memory chips and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Samsung arranged for Altman to meet with about 50 executives from its electronics, finance, biotechnology, and other business divisions, with a focus on exploring how AI will reshape various industries and corporate decision-making over the next decade, as well as the business opportunities involved. The meeting built on cooperation previously announced by the two sides: Samsung will supply memory chips for OpenAI's "Stargate" infrastructure project and will collaborate in the AI data center sector, including offshore floating data centers. Samsung is also accelerating the application of AI technology to R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and corporate operations.
