Lee Chan-jin, head of South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, stated that the country's top financial regulator is closely monitoring the listing situation of Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK Hynix, and considers its potential initial public offering (IPO) to be a form of 'dual listing.' Lee informed lawmakers on Monday that regulators will examine whether this IPO needs to comply with South Korea's securities registration regulations. South Korea has strengthened oversight of spin-off listings by parent and subsidiary companies to protect the rights of minority shareholders. However, under current regulations, regulators lack the authority to prevent Solidigm from listing overseas.
