MemSilicon has recently declared the successful conclusion of its Series A financing round, amassing a substantial sum exceeding 400 million yuan. This round of financing was spearheaded by Boyuan Capital, with contributions from numerous institutions and sustained backing from current shareholders. The capital raised will be predominantly allocated towards the industrialization and market introduction of RRAM technology, along with the research and development endeavors for the innovative LPU product. Concurrently, Tao Lu, previously serving as the President and General Manager of Greater China at Graphcore, has assumed the role of CEO and co-founder at MemSilicon, spearheading a sweeping strategic transformation for the enterprise.
As MemSilicon progresses with the commercialization of its resistive random-access memory (RRAM) offerings, it has also embarked on the development of its inaugural LPU tailored for large model inference, with the ambition to craft a cutting-edge inference engine. Presently, large model inference stands at a pivotal moment necessitating architectural innovation, with the synergy between memory and computing recognized as the pivotal avenue for breakthroughs. Drawing upon the Chinese Academy of Sciences team's extensive foundational technology expertise in RRAM and other domains, accumulated over more than two decades, and integrating Lu's industry acumen, MemSilicon is poised to harness complementary strengths and expedite the conversion of its comprehensive technological prowess into tangible commercial success.
Several stakeholders have voiced their endorsement and eagerness regarding MemSilicon's technological trajectory and growth prospects. As a memory-computing synergy chip enterprise dedicated to large model inference and pioneering storage solutions, MemSilicon is set to propel its strategic layout forward, with RRAM serving as the cornerstone of storage and LPU as the computational powerhouse.
