On October 13, during the 2026 Huawei Terminal Innovation Technology Communication Conference, Huawei unveiled the Kirin 9050 series chip. This new release came in tandem with the launch of the triple-folding smartphone, the Mate XT 2, and the straight-screen flagship model, the Mate 90 Pro Max. Xu Songyu, who heads the Wireless Terminal Chip Product Management Department within Huawei's Semiconductor Business Division, disclosed that since 2023, the cumulative shipments of terminal products utilizing Kirin chips have surpassed 100 million units. Benefiting from the robust support of China's electronics industry, the Kirin 9050 series has successfully transitioned into mass production. The introduction of this series signifies a major advancement for the Kirin chip following its re-emergence, heralding a fresh chapter for the upcoming decade.
