Since the onset of October, there has been a general upward trend in the prices of electronic fabrics and electronic yarns, with the magnitude of these increases varying across different product categories. Notably, thin fabrics have experienced a more substantial price hike compared to their thicker counterparts, reaching a relatively high price point for the year. Several prominent listed companies within the electronic fabric sector have acknowledged these price rises.

The current round of price escalations can be attributed to two primary factors: Firstly, the burgeoning demand for PCB (Printed Circuit Board) products within the downstream AI (Artificial Intelligence) industry has significantly boosted the need for AI-specific electronic fabrics. These specialized fabrics serve as the key raw materials for copper-clad laminates, which are essential components in PCB manufacturing. Secondly, some electronic fabric manufacturers have redirected their production capacities from standard electronic fabrics to AI-specific variants, leading to a consequent decrease in the availability of ordinary electronic fabrics.

Presently, the overall inventory levels within the electronic fabric industry are in a precarious equilibrium, with supply and demand particularly strained for high-end electronic fabrics, especially thin ones. Since the previous year, a number of companies have been engaged in technical modifications to facilitate a transition from producing thick to thin fabrics. As a result, the proportion of thin fabrics in the market has now witnessed a notable increase.
