On October 12, during the opening ceremony of the 2026 National Core Exhibition, Tang Wenkang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, remarked in his speech that the scale of Shanghai's integrated circuit industry had surged to nearly RMB 580 billion in 2025, constituting 30% of the national total. In the first eight months of this year, the industry sustained its growth momentum, achieving a year-on-year increase exceeding 20%. Presently, Shanghai has amassed over 1,200 integrated circuit enterprises, drawing in nearly 40% of the industry's talent pool nationwide and securing a top-tier position in terms of the overall competitiveness of industry talent among global cities.
