The Japanese government-backed chipmaker Rapidus is accelerating the establishment of a customer design support system, with the goal of starting mass production of 2nm chips in the second half of fiscal 2027. On October 5, the company announced the formation of a 'Design Solution Partner' team consisting of 17 global chip design-related companies, including chip design software providers Synopsys and Cadence, as well as service companies like Infosys and Wipro, aiming to assist customers in initiating chip designs based on Rapidus's technology as early as possible.
