On October 6, 2026 (local time), a five-day jury trial commenced between Qualcomm and Arm in the U.S. Federal Court located in Delaware. Qualcomm alleged that Arm had breached the contract by failing to supply essential chip testing tools and had also leaked a menacing letter concerning the termination of their licensing agreement in 2024. This incident, according to Qualcomm, has adversely affected its chip collaboration with Meta. Consequently, Qualcomm is seeking a suspension of the multi-billion-dollar licensing fees it pays to Arm over the next five years and is urging Arm to grant a license for the V10 instruction set architecture. Currently, the judge is deliberating on whether to reject Qualcomm's petition to cease licensing fee payments.
