On September 24th, reports emerged indicating that the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has initiated an investigation into dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) manufactured by Micron Technology, as well as into server manufacturers utilizing these chips. This move comes in response to a complaint filed by Netlist, a memory supplier headquartered in Irvine, California. Netlist has alleged that the involved companies have violated U.S. federal tariff laws, asserting that certain DRAM devices and their associated products were imported into and sold within the United States, thereby infringing upon its patents. In addition to Micron, the USITC's investigation will also encompass server manufacturers such as HPE, Supermicro, and Lenovo Group.
