The rise in semiconductor and wafer fabrication stocks drove the overall market higher, with TSMC gaining 1.6%, Hon Hai rising 1.2%, and MediaTek increasing 0.1%, all closing at record highs. Influenced by Wall Street's optimism towards artificial intelligence and tech stocks, the Nasdaq Index reached another all-time high, boosting Taiwan stocks as well. Barclays believes that Taiwan will continue to benefit from strong semiconductor shipments and tech hardware exports.
