On September 21, SIC Microelectronics made an announcement stating that it has successfully completed the full paid-in capital contribution to its joint venture, XL Advanced. The cumulative paid-in registered capital has now reached RMB 2.129 billion, enabling SIC Microelectronics to secure a 25.1% stake and emerge as the largest shareholder. This strategic investment is geared towards propelling the 'Phase IV Project' forward, which envisions the establishment of a cutting-edge 12-inch automotive-grade digital-analog mixed-signal chip production line. This production line is projected to have a monthly capacity of 50,000 wafers. The technological focus of this endeavor will be on high-end analog chips, encompassing 40/28nm MCU/DSP, 90/55nm BCD/Dr MOS, and notably, 55nm silicon photonics. According to reports, the total investment earmarked for the Phase IV Project stands at approximately RMB 20 billion, with RMB 12 billion allocated as capital.
