On September 21st, it was reported that Changxin Technology announced on September 20th that its fifth-generation DRAM process platform, the G5, has officially commenced mass production. This achievement marks a significant milestone, as domestically produced general DRAM now attains a theoretical process density on par with international top-tier standards. Moreover, it substantially bolsters Changxin Technology’s cost competitiveness and pricing leverage in the mainstream market.
The G5 platform leverages quadruple exposure technology, enabling a 50% surge in memory bit density compared to its predecessor within the DUV system framework. This advancement also leads to a notable increase in wafer die output. Against the backdrop of a burgeoning storage market and constrained supply, this breakthrough provides robust support for Changxin Technology’s integration into the supply chains of domestic flagship smartphones. In general-purpose domains such as DDR5 and LPDDR5X, Changxin Technology now boasts global cost competitiveness.
Furthermore, with the expansion of the G5 platform, the proportion of domestically produced semiconductor equipment is projected to surpass 40%. This expansion directly stimulates equipment procurement in areas like etching and thin-film deposition, fostering performance growth for upstream suppliers.
