On September 17, Intel CEO Chen Liwu disclosed that the current demand for CPUs is surging, resulting in a notable imbalance between supply and demand. With the proliferation of AI applications, this supply shortage is likely to continue. At present, Intel can only fulfill 50% of its customers' CPU requirements, a concern that has already been raised with him by several CEOs of leading companies. Chen Liwu also shared that Intel's 18A manufacturing node has commenced mass production, while the 14A node is scheduled to begin production in the first quarter of 2027.
