On September 16, reports surfaced indicating that Samsung Display is on the verge of finalizing a substantial KRW 300 billion investment plan aimed at facilitating the mass production of RGB OLEDoS technology. This decision is slated to be ratified at the upcoming Investment Review Committee meeting scheduled for this month. RGB OLEDoS represents a cutting-edge variant of Micro OLED microdisplay technology, characterized by its utilization of a silicon substrate and the direct deposition of RGB OLED sub-pixels.

Samsung Display's envisioned RGB OLEDoS mass production line is projected to boast a monthly production capacity of around 3,000 wafers. This ambitious endeavor will leverage deposition equipment sourced from South Korea's esteemed Sunic System. Equipment procurement is anticipated to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026, paving the way for equipment installation in 2027. Subsequently, official mass production operations are expected to commence in 2028, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of microdisplay technology.
