At the Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm is set to introduce two cutting-edge platforms: the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition (SM8950) and the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Ultimate Edition (SM8975). Both platforms are crafted using TSMC's advanced 2nm process and incorporate the third-generation Oryon CPU. Notably, the CPU clock speed of the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Ultimate Edition surpasses 5GHz, propelling the smartphone industry into the new 5GHz era. Regarding GPU performance, the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition is outfitted with the Adreno 845 GPU and supports LPDDR5X memory, whereas the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Ultimate Edition boasts the Adreno 850 GPU and supports LPDDR6 memory. The Xiaomi 18 series has secured the privilege of being the first to launch these platforms, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro unveiling the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max showcasing the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Ultimate Edition. Furthermore, Xiaomi will enjoy a six-month exclusive period for the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition.
