The 1400V second-generation silicon carbide chip, a product of joint development and manufacturing by Sicarbon and APD Semiconductor, has undergone thorough performance enhancements to excel under the high-voltage and high-frequency extreme operating conditions typically encountered in automotive applications. At present, the two companies are working in tandem to pioneer a complete lineup of third-generation chips. Moreover, they have already secured intended fixed points (designated project points) from several automotive companies for main drive projects within the passenger vehicle segment. Notably, they accomplished the widespread adoption of first-generation silicon carbide chips in vehicles as early as mid-2025.
