On September 15th, reports emerged indicating that the second-generation automotive-grade silicon carbide (SiC) main drive chip and module combination, a collaborative effort between Xinyue Energy and Chip Cluster Energy, has been successfully implemented in vehicles. Moreover, the two companies are now working together on the development of a full suite of third-generation chips. At present, this combination has already garnered Intentional Fixed-Point (tentative fixed point/designated project) status from several automotive companies for main drive projects within the passenger vehicle sector. It is noteworthy that the second-generation 1400V silicon carbide chip, which is now in mass production, has undergone extensive performance enhancements to excel under extreme operating conditions, such as high voltage and high frequency scenarios commonly encountered in vehicles. Prior to this achievement, the two companies had successfully achieved mass production and integration of the first-generation silicon carbide chips in vehicles by mid-2025, marking a significant milestone in their technological journey.
