On September 4, news emerged that Kioxia is intensifying its initiatives to substitute a portion of server DRAM with NAND flash technology. The company's CXL memory expansion module has undergone testing, demonstrating the potential to double memory capacity and boost performance by 30% (though these results have not yet been independently confirmed). Moreover, Kioxia has outlined plans to introduce SSD samples that can be directly connected to NVIDIA GPUs by 2028. During the 2026 Open Data Center Summit, Kioxia exhibited the PCIe 6.0 enterprise-grade SSD CM10 series, the LC9 series—which boasts the world's largest capacity among enterprise-grade SSDs—and the NX1 series, the first data center-grade SSD to support liquid cooling technology.
