On September 1, Apple notified developers that universal apps on the Mac App Store requiring macOS 13 or later can officially remove support for Macs with Intel processors. Developers simply need to update their app build settings to 'arm64' only, rebuild, and resubmit. This move will streamline the development process and reduce app download package sizes and device storage usage. For users, app sizes may become smaller and resource usage lower. However, while older Intel Macs will not immediately be 'cut off,' they will no longer receive new features and security fixes.
