Notably, GigaSemiconductor stands as the pioneering Chinese company to achieve large-scale mass production of 12-inch silicon photonics wafers. Its silicon photonics process platform has amassed a substantial track record, with over 3,500 wafer starts. The company's product portfolio encompasses 400G, 800G, and 1.6T high-speed silicon pluggable optical module applications, aligning with globally leading technological benchmarks. As of the end of May 2026, GigaSemiconductor reported a robust backlog of 321,200 wafers, valued at RMB 1.533 billion. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the wafer foundry dispatched 180,500 wafers, marking a significant year-on-year surge of 62.20%. The company is optimistic about attaining overall profitability as early as 2029.
