The Bank of Korea raised its economic growth forecast for the year to 3.3% on Thursday, citing robust semiconductor exports amid strong demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. The upward revision marks a 0.7 percentage point increase from the 2.6% projection made in May, and it represents the second upward adjustment for 2026's growth outlook since a 2% forecast in February. This projection is the highest growth forecast by the Bank of Korea since 2021, when it predicted a 4.7% expansion.
