Recently, Samsung Electro-Mechanics emerged as the frontrunner in elevating its prices for Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) destined for OEM and ODM clients in the fourth quarter of 2026. Specifically, the price surge for consumer-grade X5R MLCCs averages between 25% and 30%, whereas the premium for high-end X6S MLCCs, which are integral to AI servers, climbs from 10% to 20%. This strategic pricing adjustment is designed to manage order volumes effectively, thereby freeing up resources to bolster high-end production capabilities. At present, leading Japanese MLCC manufacturers such as Murata, Taiyo Yuden, and Kyocera are adopting a cautious stance, opting to maintain their current pricing levels. Their future decisions on whether to adjust prices will significantly influence the broader price increase trend. With these developments, the MLCC industry has officially embarked on a recovery trajectory.
