In response to potential competition from OpenAI's self-developed inference chip, Jalapeño, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated during the company's Q2 FY2027 earnings call that the products NVIDIA is developing are 'entirely different' from OpenAI's self-developed chips.
