On August 12th, Chiplet Technology unveiled that its self-developed automotive-grade 7nm AI acceleration chip, the 'Tiangong 100,' has officially entered full-scale mass production and started bulk shipments to vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers. This innovative chip boasts an independent plug-in design, which obviates the necessity for replacing the main control chip or altering existing hardware and software configurations. Leveraging a plug-in card form factor, it furnishes vehicles with standalone large model computing capabilities, heralding a significant leap forward in expanding China's domestic end-side AI computing power. The 'Tiangong 100' delivers an impressive 96 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of computing power and 102 GB/s of memory bandwidth, enabling it to support the operation of large AI models with parameter sizes spanning from 3 billion (3B) to 7 billion (7B). Furthermore, it has successfully undergone automotive-grade safety certification, with hardware costs meticulously controlled at the thousand-yuan level, making it an economically viable solution for the automotive industry.
