Chip giant AMD recently issued a security advisory, disclosing two high-risk security vulnerabilities in the TPM reference implementation used in its computer platforms, numbered CVE-2026-6726 and CVE-2026-6727, with CVSS scores of 8.5 and 8.3, respectively. The CVE-2026-6726 vulnerability could lead to information disclosure, enabling attackers to forge TPM encryption keys; the CVE-2026-6727 vulnerability could result in the disclosure of encrypted TPM data or its use in forging attestation keys. Affected processors include the Ryzen 3000 to 9000 series, Ryzen AI series, Threadripper series, and others. AMD stated that the majority of fixes for desktop platforms were completed in May this year, and users can mitigate risks by simply updating their motherboard BIOS in a timely manner.
