On August 12, data from the market research institution Counterpoint revealed that in the NAND flash memory market shipment rankings for the second quarter of 2026, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) secured market shares of 25%, 22%, and 14%, respectively. Notably, YMTC made its debut in the top three rankings. However, when considering revenue, YMTC slipped to the fifth position in the industry, trailing behind Micron and Kioxia. This disparity primarily stems from YMTC's product portfolio, which is predominantly geared towards consumer-grade applications. Consequently, the proportion of high-unit-price data center enterprise-grade solid-state drives in its offerings is relatively low.
