On August 12, Omdia released a report stating that AI demand continues to outpace global supply capabilities, driving strong growth in the DRAM and NAND markets. As a result, Omdia has raised its forecast for global semiconductor market revenue growth to 94.1% in 2026, and expects memory chip revenue to account for more than 50% of total global semiconductor revenue. Meanwhile, AI demand has exceeded the current chip manufacturing and packaging capabilities of the semiconductor industry, with bottlenecks in key areas such as high-bandwidth memory, advanced packaging, and advanced process capacity expected to persist until at least 2027.
