According to reports, on August 11, Choo Kyung-ho, who serves as both the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy and Finance in South Korea, revealed that following the implementation of countermeasures targeting single-stock leveraged ETFs, there was a significant plunge in their trading volume. Specifically, the trading volume plummeted from KRW 12.4 trillion on July 30 to a mere KRW 800 billion on August 7. When compared to the peak trading volume of KRW 19.4 trillion recorded on June 25, this marks an almost 96% decline. Choo Kyung-ho further emphasized that the government would spare no effort and take every possible policy measure to minimize market volatility.
