Apple has commenced testing memory chips manufactured by China's ChangXin Memory Technologies, with the intention of incorporating them into its product lines, including the iPhone and MacBook. The tech giant has also embarked on preliminary discussions regarding supply collaboration, considering their potential application in devices marketed within the Chinese region. This move is aimed at mitigating the challenges posed by memory chip shortages and escalating costs. Nevertheless, owing to constraints imposed by U.S. federal regulations, Apple is currently barred from placing tailored orders with ChangXin and is actively pursuing clearance from the White House. Furthermore, ChangXin's production capacity is operating at full tilt this year, with companies like HP and Acer already receiving limited supplies and striving to secure a more substantial portion of the supply chain in the upcoming year.
