Due to the scarcity of storage chip supplies, the average monthly contract prices for both DRAM and NAND flash memory reached unprecedented heights in July. Suppliers have been focusing their production efforts on high-layer 3D NAND and cutting-edge processes, which has exacerbated the shortage of single-level cell (SLC) NAND. Consequently, the average price of SLC NAND jumped by 35% to 51% month-on-month in July. In contrast, multi-level cell (MLC) NAND experienced more modest price increases, ranging from 4% to 8%, as downstream customers have grown increasingly sensitive to costs.
