Having already imposed import bans on Chinese robots and inverters, the U.S. government is now setting its sights on Chinese optical transceiver modules. On August 4, media sources, citing insiders, reported that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is in the process of formulating new regulations aimed at prohibiting the import of new Chinese optical modules. However, it is noteworthy that mature models, which have already received FCC certification and are being supplied in large quantities, will remain unaffected. Additionally, products manufactured by non-Chinese companies will be excluded from this proposed ban.
