Samsung Electronics has unveiled its financial results for the second quarter, showing that sales, operating profit, and net profit all outperformed market forecasts. The depreciation of the Korean won played a significant role, contributing a positive impact of roughly KRW 3.1 trillion. As we look ahead to the second half of the year, the company is optimistic about robust demand for server chips, despite ongoing chip supply constraints. The memory segment is expected to capitalize on increased AI-related capital expenditures and a broader range of applications. Meanwhile, the foundry business is on track to achieve double-digit revenue growth for the entire year. However, demand for mobile and PC chips is projected to decelerate. Samsung Electronics aims to bolster its market share in the smartphone sector and foresees continued overall profit growth.
