As the demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) surges due to artificial intelligence, memory manufacturers are shifting their DRAM wafer production capacity towards HBM, a move that is impacting the traditional standard DRAM supply chain. Recently, Chang Chia-kuei, CEO of Apacer Technology, a major Taiwanese memory module manufacturer, warned that the global supply of traditional standard DRAM could see a significant reduction of 70% by 2027.
