As per a report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple is vigorously engaging in lobbying efforts with the U.S. government to ease cost burdens. The company is seeking permission to incorporate chips from Chinese memory chip manufacturers, namely ChangXin Memory Technologies and Yangtze Memory Technologies, into products destined for sale in markets beyond the United States. Nevertheless, this strategy has encountered staunch opposition from one of its key suppliers, Micron Technology. Micron cautions that such an action could potentially wreak havoc on the U.S. domestic memory chip sector. At present, the Trump administration has yet to reach a verdict on this issue, and this lobbying clash has positioned Trump amidst a clash of interests between two American tech behemoths.
