Data released on Tuesday by the Korea Customs Service in its “Import and Export Status Report (July 1–20)” revealed that South Korea’s exports reached US$54.933 billion during the first 20 days of July, marking a significant 52.3% increase compared to the same period last year and setting a new record high for this timeframe. Semiconductor exports, in particular, surged by 180.6% year-on-year to US$22.113 billion, accounting for 40.3% of the country’s total exports. This is a notable rise from their 21.9% share during the same period last year. Meanwhile, exports of computer peripherals soared by 231.9% year-on-year, and petroleum product exports grew by 33.4%. In contrast, exports of passenger vehicles and automotive parts saw declines of 10.6% and 9.6%, respectively.
