On July 21, a collective upswing was observed across the three major A-share indices. The Shanghai Composite Index registered a 0.42% increase, while the Shenzhen Component Index advanced by 0.34%. Notably, the ChiNext Index outperformed, climbing 0.76%. The semiconductor sector emerged as the frontrunner in the rally, with notable surges in Cambricon and Montage Technology, both soaring over 4%, and GigaDevice, which rose more than 3%. The precious metals sector also exhibited strength, highlighted by significant gains in Chifeng Gold and Shandong Gold International, both surging over 2%. Conversely, the oil and gas and CRO sectors faced headwinds, with Taishan Petroleum experiencing a notable decline of over 5%.
