Recent market reports have surfaced indicating that Central Glass, a key supplier of specialty gases to semiconductor behemoths like TSMC, is set to cease the production of high-purity tungsten hexafluoride. In response to this news, TSMC clarified on July 20 that the company employs a global procurement approach, consistently seeks out multi-source supply alternatives, and has successfully established a well-diversified global supplier network. At present, TSMC does not foresee any operational impact stemming from this development. Furthermore, TSMC's supply chain and suppliers have confirmed that the current supply of raw tungsten powder for gases remains uninterrupted, with numerous viable alternatives in place. As a result, the anticipated impact on the industry is expected to be minimal.
