On July 14, Beijing time, Reuters reported that Samsung Electronics has refuted claims regarding its exploration into the issuance of American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) in the United States. According to a Samsung spokesperson, the company has not conducted any assessment on the feasibility of issuing ADRs. Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources close to the matter, indicated that Samsung had engaged in preliminary discussions with banks. However, no final decision had been made on whether to move forward with related plans, and these discussions might not culminate in a listing. In the past, Samsung had also considered issuing ADRs but ultimately decided against it. Nevertheless, the successful U.S. listing of its competitor, SK Hynix, has offered fresh motivation for Samsung to revisit this concept.
