On the afternoon of July 13, Liu Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Zhejiang Province, undertook special research on the development of Ningbo’s integrated circuit industry. He underscored the significance of fostering high-quality growth in related sectors, including artificial intelligence, computing power, chips, and intelligent equipment, as these are pivotal for refining the industrial landscape and boosting the caliber of economic development. He urged regions across the province to seize opportunities to thoroughly assess the current state of AI-related industries, capitalize on their unique strengths in line with local conditions, and actively advance the implementation and reserving (here, 'reserving' can be understood as the ongoing process of identifying, preparing, and maintaining a pipeline of potential projects for future development) of significant projects. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to expedite the cultivation of leading enterprises as well as specialized, sophisticated, and innovative companies, thereby accelerating industrial scalability. In parallel, it is crucial to enhance coordination across provincial, municipal, and county levels, along with interdepartmental collaboration, refine the investment mechanism for scientific and technological innovation, and channel resources such as talent, data, and computing power towards the AI industry to invigorate industrial innovation.
