The DigiTimes report indicates that due to the impact of growing AI demand and capacity bottlenecks, HBM4 prices are expected to rise from $2 per kilobit to $4-5 or more in the second half of 2026. The reason lies in the complex manufacturing process of HBM4, with a production cycle as long as four to six months and relatively low initial yield rates. Additionally, the wafer capacity consumed by HBM production is approximately three times that of standard DDR5 DRAM, limiting manufacturers' total memory output.
