After grappling with yield challenges for several months, Intel's latest-generation manufacturing node, the 18A, has now transitioned into a stable phase conducive to large-scale mass production. According to the latest research report from sell-side firm BlueFin Research Partners, the defect density of the 18A process has now reached the lower end of the spectrum typically observed in mature manufacturing processes, with values ranging from D0=0.1 to D0=0.2. This achievement underscores the process's readiness to support sustainable, high-volume production, both from a manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness standpoint.
