SIA: Global Semiconductor Sales Hit US$120.6 Billion in May, with China Soaring by 88.8%

On July 6th, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) revealed, drawing on data from the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), that global semiconductor sales soared to US$120.6 billion (equivalent to roughly RMB 820.295 billion) in May 2026. This represented a 9.2% uptick on a month-on-month basis and a staggering 104.1% leap year-on-year. Notably, this marked the inaugural instance where sales breached the US$120 billion threshold, with monthly sales witnessing growth for an uninterrupted 15-month period. In terms of regions, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific (excluding China and Japan) registered year-on-year growth surpassing 100%. Meanwhile, the Chinese market saw a 10.7% increase from the previous month.
